It was built in 1889 for the Exposition Universelle (World Fair), it started in 1884 and it took 2 years two months and 5 days to build. In 1957 it was used as a trasmtter for the French Television.

The Eiffel Tower is 318.7 meters high, including the television antenna at the very tip. In 1889, the height was
